For Samsung, marketing agency, PMK*BNC conceived Summer Krush, a nine US city tour with headliners designed to engage the alternative music scene. Acts included Cee Lo Green, Lenny Kravitz, Bush and The Avett Brothers.
PMK*BNC asked Tangible to provide a branded version of the Twitter Photo Mosaic. Working with event producers, Event Eleven, we created a traveling kit, operated by AV technicians on-site with remote support from Tangible in Vancouver.
At each venue, guests posed for a photo in front of a step & repeat. The shots, taken with Samsung Infuse 4G smart phones were sent using Bluetooth to our Twitter Photo Mosaic application running on a TI computer.
As guests moved to the show space, they were encouraged to Tweet using their personal smart phones with the hash tag, #summerkrush included in the message.
Before the main act struck the first chord, thousands of Tweets were sent creating a live conversation between gig goers. Combined with the photos, the Twitter Photo Mosaic animation projected on a Kabuki drop added excitement, buzz and anticipation.
We also created a competition element. A winning Tweet card was chosen by Samsung at each venue and shown full-screen. An MC announced the winner from the stage with a DM sent for verification.
