/be the conductor for a swarm of light
//story
Halo Swarm is a modular lighting system that responds to its surroundings, bringing a space to life with mesmerizing patterns of colour and light. We call it a ‘swarm’ because it is made of very simple individuals — rings of LEDs — that move like flocks of birds or schools of fish to create beautiful, unpredictable light animations.
The possibilities for the system are endless, and since it’s modular, it can be as small as a grid of nine or as big as a wall of thousands of lights. This iteration detects the motion of someone's hand and starts a snake pattern on the LEDs, but the Halo Swarm could also be built to react to sound, light, the weather, or the time of day.
//how it works
This Halo Swarm system is comprised of 72 independent modules that are networked together to create what we call a swarm. Each module has 60 LEDs that illuminate the wall as well as a proximity sensor that detects when someone moves their hand across the lights.
